Lots of large game companies do, it's mostly statistical work from what I gather, analyzing the market to which they sell.

Alternatively, they could be at work designing games that claw at your innermost fears and insecurities.

And basically creep you the smurf out and make you absolutely defenseless and jump at every sound and make you go insane.

A job combining the two things I'm best at, psychology and smurfing with people.

Fixed.

And having a WoW player tell you to "go outside" is oh so paradoxical.

Give me a break, I was stuck in Titusville for a year, didn't have anything better to do.

I keep playing Civ V in the hopes that one day, something will be different.

This round, I started out going for a cultural victory. Now it's turn 335, and I'm shooting nukes at Gandhi.

Maybe I'll manage to do things different next time.

I find myself doing the same thing. A perfect cultural victory is not one absent from battles. However, when you have the upper hand in a war, as is common on some of the easier levels, it's simply illogical to not continue the onslaught. Of course, if you try to penalize yourself in battle, cultural victories become impossible. But that game is still fun as smurf.

How in the name of papa smurf does this happen? (terrible quality Youtube upload: http://youtu.be/72OQdZm63Dk )
So I was playing some Blitzball on my Livestream this morning and this happened. Lulz and a spike in the OMG levels starts around the 2:00 mark.

And yes, I dropped an "awwww smurf!" at one point. Watch at your own risk.
But if you're somewhere where one instance of that word would be deemed unacceptable, you probably shouldn't be watching me play video games anyway.

So Sam and I were playing a couple games of Starcraft II last night, and one game was an utter nooby fail.
Game from my POV
Game from Sam's POV

Quality is terrible, I know, and I don't care.

So, I bought Hydrophobia: Prophecy on Steam when it was three bucks. Fun game. Mechanics are decent, graphics look okay on my monitor--poor video card, comparatively low-res--and the plot & gameplay are interesting. Bonus points for "Malthusian" terrorists and a female protagonist who is portrayed as technically-apt without being sexualized or overly-whiny. Loss of points for unlimited quantity of certain ammunition, but partial regaining for that ammunition being less effective and theoretically feasibly "unlimited". (Sonic ammunition. Seems to fire small channels of air at super-sonic speeds.)

Oh, and extra bonus points for panic attacks under water. Considering the environment is a sinking ship/floating city, you swim a lot

So how awesome is it that my competitive Call of Duty team includes not one, but TWO former decathletes?
So much win.
The other decathlete is o Clever Name o, he competed for Youngstown Christian in Ohio as a varsity.
