PS: I get to see either The Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, or John Mayer for "free" by volunteering for the New Orleans Jazz Festival. I'm really hoping for one of the first two, as The Beach Boys are one of my favorite bands ever, and Bruce Springsteen is just awesome.

PS: Started my own Cover the Night event for Kony 2012 for Waukesha and within hours I already have people attending and excited about it, despite the fact it's on the day of Carroll's Spring Fling. Many of the people attending I don't even know. I feel like I'm making such a difference.

If you don't know what Kony 2012 is, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc I urge each and every one of you to Cover the Night on 4/20 in your respective towns/cities.

Yeah I've already read this article and similar ones. While I do not usually approve of Invisible Children and how they go about their business, I feel like this article may be just as biased as any other in saying that "Kony is no longer important." If he wasn't important, he wouldn't be the number one on this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_peopl...st_of_indictees list, a list that includes many infamous names. Kony is bad person and he needs to be stopped, plain and simple. KONY 2012 is raising awareness because people don't know what is going on with the Invisible Children. If anything I think KONY 2012, as well as the protests that have been happening around the world this past year or so, are really starting to show the influence and power of social media, and how it can be utilized to help change the world for the better. THAT'S why I am a supporter of the KONY2012 movement, not because I like Invisible Children, but rather because I want Kony, amongst other terrible people in the world, to be captured and tried for their heinous crimes against humanity.

When people try and raise "awareness" they're trying to provoke an emotional response, rather than rationally engage in a discourse. There's no intelligent solution being posed here, it's talking about an issue in the douchyest way possible.

It's not just that there's no intelligent solution being posed, it's that the solution being posed is an incredibly bad one.

Yeah, let's protect human rights by propping up a military dictatorship that proposed a bill that would make "aggravated homosexuality" a capital offense!

PS: My choir director just arranged us a piece combining the bass line from Dave Brubeck's Take Five and the melody of The Beatle's The Night Before and it sounds AMAZING. We learned it in under one hour and I'm so excited to perform it.
