I'd be curious to hear how many teams are competing this weekend. Region V has 21 large schools and 11 medium schools.

According to this, there were 247 teams registered this year -- 3 more than last year, assuming all teams show up. That's 136 Large, 84 Medium, and 27 Small. The biggest regions are III, V and IX, each with 28 schools, and the smallest is I with 10. Next smallest are XI and XII, each with 15 (although XII, which is all Dallas ISD, only lets the top 7-5-3 move on from their R1 District competition).

USAD scoring at our location is going incredibly well. We've had all of our scores within 10 minutes of the end of the test. Duff and Frish are killing it with this meet, so well done.

Going to take a day off from dealing with inner city middle schoolers to check out some overachiever type kids. I'll probably stop by for Region 9 to check out the Super Quiz and awards ceremony. Will try to keep everyone updated.

Region V is using traditional scoring. All schools have first four event scores from Friday and we're waiting on update #2 (math and music) as of this posting.

Four or five teams over 50K? Tests look too easy.

From the little I've heard, it seems the tests aren't terribly inflated, but can't be sure yet. This is good news. :3

I was unable to attend due to a death in the family, but Plano East scored 45,364 today in Region X. I don't know anything else about the contest, but there's our score

Oh no, I''m awfully sorry to hear that. :/ My thoughts are with you and your family.

Great job to your team though for going on and doing well with their coach. smile.gif
