Here is a poll for Wisconsin State Predictions:
https://goo.gl/forms/uKv1yvio2pBtJVOF2 Wisconsin state is 2 weeks away on the 2nd and 3rd of March. It is shaping up to be a very interesting competition. Wilmot had a massive improvement in objs (about 4500) between R1 and R2, so if they can keep that up, it will be very close at the top. The other question is Waukesha West, who has had returners not performing as well as they did last year and whose varsities got zero ribbons at Regionals. New Berlin West has been doing very well, and this is the first time since 2000 that they have qualified for state, and could potentially finish in the top 5. Can Sun Prairie win the Division I Championship for the first time since 2008? Will Waukesha West fall out of the top 3 for the first time since 1997? All of these questions and more will be answered on March 3rd. These predictions are for 10-event scores only. Predictions - Team 1.) Watertown - 43,187.4 2.) Wilmot Union - 43,093.4 (Division II Champions) - Likely MS E-Nats Rep 3.) Sun Prairie - 39,252.5 (Division I Champions) - Likely LS E-Nats Rep 4.) New Berlin Eisenhower - 38,844.7 5.) New Berlin West - 38,359.3 6.) New Richmond - 37,471.2 7.) Waukesha West - 37,296.2 8.) Marathon - 37,070.1 (Division IV Champions) - Likely SS E-Nats Rep 9.) Rufus King International - 36,190.7 10.) Slinger - 35,150.6 11.) Melrose-Mindoro - 34,471.8 12.) Bay Port - 33,662.4 13.) Seymour - 33,546.9 (Division III Champions) 14.) Pewaukee - 33,454.8 15.) Green Bay East - 32,060.9 16.) Green Bay Preble - 31,899.7 17.) Deerfield - 30,899.5 18.) Durand - 30,045.6 19.) Northland Pines - 29,686.5 20.) Winneconne - 29,675.6 I don’t think the inclusion of SuperQuiz will change these rankings very much. I still predict Watertown will win with SuperQuiz included. SuperQuiz Relay Predictions (Out of 9,000) Watertown - 5,800 Wilmot Union - 5,400 (Tie) Sun Prairie + New Richmond - 4,800 Predictions - Individual Placements Due to the inclusion of SuperQuiz in individual scores (stupid Wisconsin), the overall rankings can be very unpredictable, but here I am, predicting them. Honors 1.) Cameron Chyla - Waukesha West 2.) Sam Keal - Sun Prairie 3.) Benjamine Wears - Seymour Scholastic 1.) Charly Neder - Watertown 2.) Isaac Bruley - Wilmot Union 3.) Erik Crnkovich - Watertown Varsity 1.) Kyle Kostrova - Wilmot Union 2.) Emily Willis - Pewaukee 3.) Sean McCarthy - Watertown Post your predictions for Wisconsin and make sure to take the poll. All of these questions and more will be answered on March 3rd. Duuuuuude yesyesyes ![]() Hmm, our predictions vary quite a lot. Here's my top seven: 1. Wilmot Union, 43.0k 2. Watertown, 42.5k 3. Sun Prairie, 38.5k 4. NBE, 38.4k 5. WW, 38.2k 6. NB West, 38.1k 7. New Richmond, 38.0k I am convinced Wilmot will win State. I could very well be wrong -- I was wrong about Regionals -- but they seem to start slow, and I think they're gonna grow like mad and take the title out of Watertown's hands. Now, I think Watertown will grow a lot too, but with Wilmot's experience at this point I'm pretty they'll be outpaced. With Waukesha West on the other hand -- while I agree that they will fall from the top three, largely due to underperforming Varsities, I don't think they'll fall from the top five, though I do think it'll be quite close. I think Sun Prairie and NBE will both end up overtaking them, the latter thus winning DII. As for NBE West, while I'm certain we'll see continued huge growth from them, I don't think it'll ultimately be enough to take over Waukesha West, though they may jump up a spot over New Richmond (I was seriously unsure which of the two to put on top, but I went with NBW in the end). Honors 1.) Cameron Chyla - Waukesha West 2.) Sam Keal - Sun Prairie 3.) Benjamine Wears - Seymour Pfft, stop being modest. ![]() My individual predictions (without SQ, even though we'll likely never find out who wins in 10 events): Honors: 1. Sam Keal, Sun Prairie 2. Cameron Chyla, Waukesha West 3. Benjamine Wears, Seymour Scholastic: 1. Charly Neder, Watertown 2. Isaac Bruley, Wilmot Union 3. Jesse Stenske, New Richmond Varsity: 1. Samantha Steiner, Wilmot Union 2. Kyle Kostrova, Wilmot Union 3. Emily Willis, Pewaukee Aight, I'm out. Now go study, Sam. ![]() |

Just saw on Twitter than Wilmot Union won, followed very closely by Watertown! That they did. They will represent Wisconsin very well at Nationals. Sun Prairie did not fare as well. We dropped to 6th overall, 3rd in Division I, and I dropped from 2nd honors overall to 4th honors overall. We did, however, tie with Wilmot Union for the highest 6-person SuperQuiz score, so that was very exciting for the team. We also got invited to compete at the Large School ENats, so we will do that, hopefully earning more medals than last year (so basically any at all). I'll have more stuff later, but for now, sleep must happen. It's been a while. |
