Like what? Marches? Rallies? Sit-ins?

Yeah, this movement could definitely benefit from some of those...

The protesters did a march. They called it off and turned around halfway through for fear the park would be cleaned out while they were marching (Also, in part because so many people were getting hurt. Scooter cops were deliberately running over toes, and if someone fell down, they'd go right over their legs). As to sit-ins, protestors got arrested for trying to close their CitiBank accounts. Good luck with a full-scale sit-in.

anti-vietnam protests?

I feel like those movements involved a lot more than waving signs.

So when Bruce Springsteen writes a song about OWS, then it's srs bizinez?

I think that was the point of the ellipsis.

No, when they have actual policy proposals and intellectual backing for those proposals. Which they actually do have - it's just that most of the people waving signs haven't realized it yet. So I'm not saying the entire movement is futile, just the sign-waving part.

It's not that I don't understand jokes. It's just that when I have a semi-serious train of thought I don't like having it derailed by jokes, so I keep going as if the joke had never been told.

That exists? huh.gif blink.gif

My school is doing another joint occupy event tomorrow evening (and presumably no one will get arrested this time). If I finish my work, I might go and also report back on Occupy Boston.

So I didn't go to Occupy Boston due to a desire to not fail my Arabic class, but I gather there were a few more arrests and everyone was nice and orderly. tongue.gif I swear I'll go one of these days...

What the Right Fears the Most About Occupy Wall Street-- to be honest, I don't know how credible addictinginfo.org is (although they seem all right to me, in the grand scheme of news), but the article does bring up some important points about the difference between OWS and the Tea Party protests a while back. Thoughts?

Occupy Atlanta protesters got evicted from the park said protesting was taking place. Is Occupy going to get bigger, has it reached it's peak? At what point(If there is one) will the Occupy movement turn violent and become similar to mass riots in other countries?

I don't think they'll ever turn violent, America has a history of looking down on violent protests and showing much more sympathy to non-violent ones.
