HR: My day thus far (what should have happened / what did happen)

8am-11am
Sleep, get ready for volunteer work on campus / Vomit bile

11am-1:30pm
Volunteer, grab a quick bite to eat / Vomit more bile

1:30pm-4:30pm
Attend my first (practically only) class, Senior Studio / Stop vomiting enough to regain consciousness, decide that I don't have the flu, and take a shower

At least I'm here now to attend my 6:30pm-9:30pm Senior Studio...but I'm so exhausted, this day was stupid, and it's only actually starting now

PS: At least I don't have class on MW

I bought a guitar with that instead. I'm now in love with Brian May and his custom Guitars.

I always laugh when people say "Happy Holidays" on Christmas Day. Everyone knows it's Christmas, and everyone knows you're saying it because it's Christmas. You just look like you're scared of the political repercussions of mentioning a Christian holiday which, in actuality, a huge portion of the country celebrates in totally secular, non-specific ways.

So, Merry Christmas, and if you don't celebrate Christmas, have a nice day anyway.

Hey, Kwanza starts tomorrow emot-colbert.gif

But seriously- I always figured it referred to [insert gift-giving holiday] + New Years

Happy HoliDAYS meaning just Christmas seems odd

AF: I have my PSAT scores back. Not sure whether to tell my family yet. They'll like the score, but I don't.

Wait what are the pros of not telling them again

They'll be hurt that I didn't tell them as soon as I found out, since I usually text them with good news in the middle of the school day. And I don't want them to pick up on the fact that I'm really annoyed at myself over more than one of those five questions.

Oh well then you should definitely keep making that wait period longer

...

Also, it sounds like you are beating yourself up over this wayyy too much, and your parents will probably be
a.) really happy for you, and
b.) able to bring you back into a sensible mindset where things like test scores are kept in the right perspective

You should talk to them about it...like, right now

Dating someone whose major was art-influenced (he has is bachelor's in industrial design) has some surprising perks.

Case in point:
At one point he took an art course in which they were given a skeleton and had to sculpt the muscles on one by one. As a result, he gives better massages than the girl I PAY to give me massages, just because he knows how the muscles sit and all of that.

Downside: We're never going to make much money as a couple.

Yeah, I took a human anatomy drawing class last year, it was one of the most super intensive studio courses I've taken

mebbe

whatcha got

I have a bunch of prints on a big table, most running from $5-$20. The smallest ones I'm thinking will be like three bucks. For the original monoprints (on the walls) I still have to work out the prices, but they are larger and would go for more anyway.

Here are some really haphazardly taken and un-edited photos of my space - shoot me a line if you see something you would pay for

UC: After I got out of my 9am class, I went to the digital print lab and spent the rest of the day printing and cutting images for Open Studio tomorrow night

Wasn't expecting to spend that long in the digi-lab today, so I am pretty behemothly far behind in final project/paper doing

PS: Hopefully it will all be worth it for Open Studio tomorrow, when people from all over come to walk around our spaces, recruit, and buy our art stuff!

On that note, anyone want to buy a print?

Okay that sounds more first-wave feminismy than I meant, but the point still stands that I can't take that sort of thing seriously in my own personal circumstance

I'm Chloe

(no wai)

My claims to fame are representing Rhode Island at Nationals 07 and 08, and taking the RI scholastic overall gold in 09 (so prestigious oh my)

Now I'm at Carnegie Mellon getting a Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in Drawing and Printmaking, which really means I like to create images that follow the brilliant dark humor and strange vignette-style storytelling of the cartoons, games, and stories that rocked my childhood

So mostly I spend my time exploring the forces of human motivation and emotion that allow us to believe in an imagined surface while ignoring a deeper truth, and I'm pretty content/frustrated/in love with this way of life

It would be nice if someone could like, pay me though

How long/serious was her previous relationship?

Key point

Trying to think of how I'd feel if I were in her position...

(I don't really know because I don't really get asked out anymore - it's more like YOU'RE CUTE LET'S DANCE and sometimes it randomly works out for longer term relationships)

But first semester of Junior year, a guy in my class played the "let's become friends" game for like, two months, and then asked me out to dinner... I was caught pretty off-guard, and also disappointed because I had been excited by the thought that I was becoming friends with a dude without it being romantic for the first time in a long time

Oh so in addition to the previous relationship question, I'd say it's pretty important to know if she is already your friend/how much you would interact with her normally
