A few more schools will receive some reward for the work they put in.
If nothing else, that's something good that comes of this. I think it's a good idea.

I'm fairly new to AD, and after reading the California Regionals thread, I want to ask those of you who have been around longer than I: What are the most significant controversial events in AD history? I heard a little about the scandal in Cheaters (but not enough, someone please elaborate) and I heard there was some suspicion in Alice being cheated out of a title.
I'd like to know more about the controversial events in history. I would appreciate it if anyone told me about these and other suspicious happenings. Thanks in advance.

Insane scores. I wish I could be anywhere close to ECR or GHC.

No one factor could really explain the decline. Money is certainly an issue, considering that every school pretty much has to cut back because of massive debts. It's not especially easy to jump into a competitive program without much experience and expect students to want to work for a certain loss.
These are the two problems I've always had. Not always deal-breakers, but it sure does hurt.

As I'm sure anyone involved in AcaDec is aware, it's quite a bit of work. So I have a single simple question: what about Academic Decathlon is so rewarding to you that it's worth putting in enough effort to study or even coach? I'm curious what you all think.
