Chronicles of Riddick (both of them)
I love action movies, I don't care if thought isn't involved.

Alright, top five favorites (I've linked it to the trailers of each movie):

Battle of Algiers - No professional actors are used, but it is not a documentary either. It is a French film about the Algerian national liberation struggle, specifically in Algiers. It was banned from France, since it portrayed the murder of police officers. Won three academy awards, yada yada yada.
Malcolm X - Denzel Washington. Nuff' said.
Harlen County, USA - A crazy documentary. It's about coal miners in Kentucky striving for union recognition. It gets violent at times — armed scuffles are recorded on video between the police and hired company thugs, and the workers. I was surprised how many people (including women) had some sort of weapon on them.
American Beauty - Classic. Kevin Spacey is one of my favorite actors. His sarcasm is what kills me.
Do the Right Thing - Spike Lee is one of my favorite directors just because of this film. It's superior to Malcolm, obviously.

Man I wanted an answer to whether it is greatest or favorite. Maybe I will do two separate lists at some point.

Both. It doesn't matter.
Some of those on my list are greatest (Casablanca) some are favorite (The Color Purple, Forrest Gump, A Beautiful Mind), some are both (Gone With the Wind, Kramer vs Kramer). Although I still like Casablanca. I just might not have put it on there if it weren't so widely renowned as being awesome. Whatever. It had epic quotes.

Louis, I think this may be the start of a beautiful friendship...
Round up the usual suspects...
Of all the gin joints in the world she walks into mine...
Here's looking at you, kid...

I could go on, but I'd have to watch the movie again.

On a completely different note, I still need to see the godfather movies.

Also, Network is a movie every single person must see. It's the cinematographic epitome of wit and sarcasm.

Also, Citizen Kane is the most overhyped movie of all time.

Well. He's got a point. That doesn't make it less good, but it's like saying that The Beatles are the most overrated band of all time. I mean, half the people who "loooooooooooooooooooooooove" the Beatles fulfill at least one of three qualities.
A: They were not around for the quartet to ever be a quartet.
B: They like, at most, four songs.
C: They only listen to the Beatles because it's the hip thing to do.

This doesn't make the Beatles suck, it makes their fans suck.

I like the Beatles cause they made some good albums.

Not "love", mind you. But they're better than what's played on rock radio these days.
