Six teams met at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ this weekend for a full scrimmage using the Xathlon 4 Star tests. These tests are very, very hard.

Ten Event Totals:
37,096 Cesar Chavez
35,407 Canyon del Oro
27,405 Sunnyside
26,721 Desert View
23,782 Buena
22,162 Morenci

Objective Totals:
23,543 Cesar Chavez
20,794 Canyon del Oro
14,197 Sunnyside
13,897 Desert View
10,983 Morenci

9,163 Piper, CDO
6,764 Karla, Cesar Chavez
6,554 Irma, Cesar Chavez
6,405 Mireille, Cesar Chavez
5,604 Kensington, Buena

6,117 Samuel, Cesar Chavez
6,049 Barbara, Cesar Chavez
6,008 Isabell, CDO
5,906 Tina, Cesar Chavez
5,621 Carter, CDO

5,925 Sabrina, Cesar Chavez
5,687 Kevan, Cesar Chavez
5,431 Clara, Cesar Chavez
5,094 Zach, CDO
4,440 Javier, CDO

Congratulations to Cesar Chavez! They drubbed us in objectives. They also have 3 freshman and 2 sophomores on their team! Buena had only 1 varsity student. Desert View was missing their top two Honor students, Sunnyside's best varsity student just moved to another state, and CDO's 2nd and 3rd Honor students were not able to make the trip.

Piper, on the other hand, took first place in every event.

Cesar Chavez is definitely the favorite to be the Arizona champion this year. Mr. Kibler has assembled an excellent team of motivated students.

Hoooly mackerel. Those were ridiculously hard tests!! And Piper outscored everyone else by 2,400 points?! That is utter insanity! Everyone looks 1500 points lower than where I'd expect with normal tests, so I'd estimate her "real" score would be about... 10,663. Not too shabby.

In all seriousness though, huge congrats to Cesar Chavez for winning, and this year is definitely gonna be closer at the top than I was expecting. I wouldn't say there is a favorite yet at this point. But best of luck to everyone, and may the best team win in the end. smile.gif

I guess itís about time we have our first 9.7k Decathlete. Truly phenomenal job from all students competing, especially Piper. She never ceases to amaze

Damn, Piper is so good I can't even come up with a dumb comment about how she didn't do enough.
