Both were much lower at regionals. West Valley I think had 32,400 and Lathrop 34,700. West Valley in particular had record improvement from Round 2 to 3 this year.

As a Nebraska native and die-hard Cornhusker (dont even start on me Longhorns) I am able to give people some reference to things in Nebraska.

The State is about 1.4 million = Dallas Ft Worth area

Schools are divided in these clasifications: A-B-C-D

A: About 30 schools in the entire state with student populations from 700-2400 (this would be like Texas 5A Schools competing against 3A Schools). 20 of these 30 schools are in Omaha and Lincoln.

B: About 80 schools scattered across the state each in a town of about 5K people

C: About 100 schools alll ove the state in towns of about 1.2K people

D: About 140 schools all ove the state - many times 3-6 towns with pops of 60-300 each combine into 1 school.

There are only about 5 Schools in the entire State of Nebraska that are the size of Coppell, Nimitz, Dobie, Seven lakes etc. All of those teams are in Omaha with the aception of Lincoln South East ??? 2 new schools opened up in Lincoln that may rival that?? and Lincoln itself is 60 miles from Omaha which is on the Far East Side.

Crieghton Prep & Burke are clasified as 'A': Cr. Prep is a very upscale - private - Boys only perp school aligned with Crieghton University - one of the top Academic Universities in the Nation.

Cozad is class 'C' a town of about 3K - the school is about 350 kids in the entire High School. Cozad is in Central to West Nebraska and is surrounded by miles of cornfields. Great kids from there - Strong in sports. I have utmost respect for them forming an AcDec team.
Most Nebraskans (Lincoln-Omaha) would consider Cozad 'West' even though it is more central. Imagine what they think of Western Nebraska = somewhere near Siberia.

Class 'D' :Small School champs Lourds is a very small (8 man football type) private Catholic School that is in a town of about 4K people. Brownell Talbot is an Omaha Area College Prep School - like a mini Creighton Prep.

For the record, Lourdes, is going to rock smurf at enats. They had an honors who had the highest individual score and their team scored a little under 41k. They were incredibly impressive.

They'll have to get by University High who scored in the 44K range.

I keep forgetting about them... :/
O well, if lourdes keeps their concentration and effort up, they should be a contender.

closedeyes.gif sorry, I fell asleep after I read "Cornhuskers".... I was born and raised in Sioux City, IA and once a year we went to Omaha for our 'big trip' dancing.gif

At least Nebraska can claim the deepest part of the High Plains Aquifer ... and that's about all the rest of the country wants to know about Nebraska (or my home state for that matter) other than "is the corn ready? pass the butter".

(p.s. you do know I'm having fun as a way to relieve stress from 6 hours of SQ today)

Speaking of E-Nationals, are more states doing it this year? Not wanting to get ahead of myself but it was nice to get a banner last year even if it was only 5 states for large schools....

As is half of my team. We have enough coughing power to run all of the appliances in my house and the pump on my pool.
