39.4 is the correct score.

Since Abuelo departed, we have been told by the powers that be that our score documents are for "internal use only". With that said, since it's already out of the bag, your scores are pretty accurate.

I'm really sorry for not posting, I honestly don't have a problem with sharing scores, as I believe it only strengthens the competition. Unfortunately, not everyone feels that way.

I don't blame you for not sharing, but it's a ridiculous policy. Imagine going to a track meet, knowing everyone was running a 4 x 100 race, and throwing a blanket over the clock so no one could see how fast they were running. huh.gif

On that note, congrats to Stockdale High School in Bakersfield who just earned 29,583 points in Round One!

I really wish the same Marshall team was still around because I feel it would make the ECR score more graspable in some way. GHC/Franklin run at a difference pace, and the three teams are a lot closer than what is shown by the current raw numbers. Marshall would run at the same pace as ECR, somewhat faster even. I don't think they'd be at the same level as ECR, but within 2000 points.

I also just miss Marshall because it's just one of the most important programs in decathlon history and I've met a lot cool people from there.

Wow. Thank you so much for correcting! And no worries for not posting earlier. It is sad when score-sharing is not allowed; apart from just being a data person/mildly over-obsessed spectator of a sport I love, I wholeheartedly believe that it does improve competition too -- I know this firsthand.

Regardless of whatever anyone will say about how the tests this year are easier, I think ECR 2018 would prove as legendarily impressive any other year.

Orange County Round 1 was today. Tests were more difficult than anticipated, so scores were alright. Full results (including top individuals) will be released sometime Monday. For now, I only know our score and the #1 team

1. Westminster - 28.2k
2. Trabuco Hills - 27.5k

I will post full scores when I have them on Monday!

2nd half of Round 1 finished here in Eastern PA:

https://acadecscores.gilslotd.com/wiki/Regi...eastern/2018ASL

If we combine the 1st and 2nd halves, we have R1 totals:

Souderton: 27,135
North Penn: 21,414
Methacton: 16,625

We plan on doing another Round 1 using version 2 in December, but I haven't received version 2 from USAD yet. If version 2 doesn't exist, we'll do USAD Easy so we have comparable scores. It's weird to do round 1 first followed by USAD Easy, but hey.

I'm always amazed by what you can do with that R1 score by the end of the year.

Saw on Twitter that Klein Collins took 2nd at the Klein ISD R1 meet -- presuming Klein got first then?

Congrats to all teams!

I love that the MA competition had these decathletes from all over the country helping out. I'm assuming that they go to college nearby and just can't get rid of the pull of decathlon. (I have the same problem smile.gif)

Last year, Edgewood did compete, but didn't put up Round One scores, either because they didn't scrimmage, or because they didn't post - I don't know which. But they did really well, and ended up in D1 at states.

And seriously, Fresno peeps - some kind of magic visits you guys between now and March, because those objective scores, like, double in the next four months! tongue.gif

Great job, Arizona teams and coaches!
