Okay, we are considering going to Pasadena for this year's regional competition. Where are the detailed rules for debate (timing, topics, scoring) and other events? There is a primer for decathletes. Can someone start the primer for WSC? Thanks.

I would send an email to Dan if I were you. I'm not even sure of these answers. I know that once the topic is given the kids have 15? minutes to prepare. I would imagine the topics would come from the ones that are in the guide, at least that is what my team is practicing. Like I said, email Dan. smile.gif

However, a WSC primer is a good thing to have. Remember, the competition is still in its early years. smile.gif

How long does each debator have to speak? I think it was 5 minutes each?

Hi everyone! Took awhile since he's out of the country hosting WSC tournaments, but I got us some answers from the man himself! Here goes:

zenmaster: Dan liked the suggestion for a primer. There isn't one right now, but maybe in the future?

I am going to PM both of you and send you the debate rules that Dan sent me. Hopefully that will help you! It does look like they speak for 5 minutes each.

Hope I helped answer some of your questions!

See you all there! Sounds like you are looking for the rules and other information? You can find it all on the Dashboard once you log in at the WSC site.
