Amazing job by Cesar Chavez High School! Wow.

In the above scores, though, please note that the Mesa Mountain View kids did not write an essay, so their scores are only 9 events and out of 9,000.

Wisconsin took it's Round 1 tests today, and I've been informed that we'll have our scores by at least next week Tuesday, though we'll probably get them around Friday.

Overall, I think the tests went as I expected, so I think my score will be around 5700, which would be an improvement from my objectives score at state last year.
Here are my thoughts on each test, but since I can't say anything about content, I'll merely rank them by difficulty, from 1 easiest to 7 hardest

1: Math (I think it's possible I got 35/35. Maybe. Possibly. Potentially. Hopefully)
2: Literature (It probably helps that I read most of this resource guide the day before the test, I think this score should be 900-980)
3: Economics (Honestly, I felt about equally as good about these 3, and I'm guessing a score around 820-880)
4: Science
5: Social Science
6: Art (Worst recall of subjects I've studied; score should be somewhere from 780-820)
7: Music (only read section I/part of section II, so that really limits how well I'd do. Somewhere from 400-600 depending on guessing skill/luck)

Of course, I could have completely misjudged how well I did, but I think the estimates are good.

I guess these scores won't matter too much, since I'm gonna study more and try to improve all the scores anyway, but it'll be really nice to know exactly where I stand compared to everyone.

Okay! I finally got my team's individual scores.
Starting with mine:

Math: 971
Literature: 940
Economics: 900
Science: 880
Social Science: 800
Art: 760
Music: 560

Total: 5811

Somehow, my ranking of their difficulty was in exactly in the right order of my scores, though a few fell outsides the ranges I estimated. I made a silly mistake on the math question I got wrong, but oh well. Overall, I scored ever so slightly above what I expected, so I'm satisfied with my Round 1 perfromance, though I plan to improve for both regionals and state.

I'm not going to hazard guessing for all the top teams in Wisconsin, but I think you might be undershooting Rufus King by a few thousand, so I'll my provide predictions about my team (though, based on who scores the highest in each division, not on who we played as normal/alternate)

H1: 5000
H2: 4000
S1: 5700
S2: 4000
V1: 4000
V2: 3500

T: 26.2K

At this point, I really hope I haven't completely misjudged how the rest of my team does, or myself for that matter.

Maybe I should add uncertainty bars.

It appears I have largely misjudged where my team was at with their studying. Here are the actual scores, optimized for highest team score.

H1: 4511
H2: 3960
S1: 5811
S2(Actually V3): 2811
V1: 3577
V2: 3146

Wow. Carrier percentage of 24.4%! Only one person in Texas at state had so high a carrier percentage. That's impressive!

But alas, I'm sorry your team didn't do quite as well. That can be disappointing, but there is still time and plenty of room for improvement. This score does put you ahead of Watertown into third place in the state (unless they can also optimize their team score higher), and only a couple thousand behind Wilmot, although they are likely to grow a lot. Challenge your team to get the job done! (Though hey, if Wilmot or Pewaukee win and you beat Watertown, you'll still be eligible for Nationals. wink.gif)
