figured it's best to start a thread for each group of tests out there to make it easier for everyone to 'watch'. For example, a different thread should be created for DD level 2, or USAD Easy, or DD level 1.... what do you all think?

All I can say is the USAD Medium was brutal, brutal, brutal BDevil.gif

When we did DD1 on 9-4 we only took 5 tests. Our scores for the exact same 5 test on USAD med, WITH five weeks that I'd consider the best September ever for our program... and the score drops 2,500 pts. Only good news is that while H and S went down, despite the much tougher tests the Varsity scores went UP.

The five exams include music, econ, lit, art, sq.

DD1 scores projected with avg 300 math (I know) and avg 400 Sci would have put us at 23,5xx on the second week of school. 5 weeks later USAD med for all 7 is 21,240.

So to all of you getting ready to take USAD medium .... facepalm.gif LolLolLolLol.gif facepalm.gif LolLolLolLol.gif enjoy the frustration sick0009.gif

Agreed, that scholastic is potent!

I believe we take this test at Friendswood, glad to see USAD taking their tests seriously.

Last year we took PBT for our first team qualifying test, and that is usually the simplest of all the USAD materials. The level exams tend to be harder than R1 and even Region. Swapped it around this year to align with other schools a bit better, so taking PBT in November. Team left stunned. This group will score 43k and above for sure this year, they had a GREAT September of work. I walked away second guessing if I should have used that test this early, but at least they saw a USAD level exam before DECATHAPALOOZA (love saying that).

Since we are the first to post usad med scores it is hard to get perspective... Nevertheless, I believe it is good for a team and program to put scores up. If anyone else takes usad med tests over next 10-14 days we'll be looking for them. Beyond that time frame the "perspective" begins to fade. I think teams make jumps every 3-4 weeks as they lop off another subject.

You know the scores are ugly when you get comments like "hey, nice Schol you got there" LOL
It's like telling a parent in a conference that their kid does a great job of bringing a pencil to class. LOL

We do Lit tomorrow during class, so I will be able to post that then.

540 | 640 Art Scholastic
720 | 660 Art Varsity

750 | 575 SQ Honors
575 | 475 SQ Scholastic
625 | 650 SQ Varsity

I did look over the Lit test after talking to Eberhard. It is tough, so our scores on that are going to be low.

I always give the medium in January so as to be fully prepared for the brutality. A certain line from the novel comes to mind right about now...

We gave the medium Jan. 17 the last few years right before region. Had lots of second thoughts about it after this weekend, but I figure the next couple competitions will feel "better" in comparison. I think we'll do the USAD Hard "open book" chicken.gif

I think Friendswood is doing that on Nov. 12 according to TAD site for practice meets.

I wish I could add to this but we simply will not be taking the USAD medium until Nov or even Jan

I do like the ide of creating a thread for each test type.

thursday we all take the econ test and we already took science, lang lit, super quiz, essay 3 times, speech and on friday we'll be taking lang and lit for the second time along with speech and we'll also be doing our first interview practice tests. also 1 question to everybody. how do you prepare some of your students for impromptu. About 60% of us are confident speakers but the others all socially awkward and shy.

It isn't medium, but I figure it is something to share: we took the "easy" Science test after spending some time reading over the last few days.

A to C

840, 720

820, 680

780, 580

Hey, it's a start.

Not a bad start at all! Looks like the beginnings of another good year at Edison.

yes, indeed, it is a tough test. For all the trolls out there copying and pasting and analyzing.... and secretly hoping JPII does bad... be careful!!
Posting scores takes (as we say in South Texas) "huevos", because you expose yourself to all the criticism. Lots of teams taking these tests and will post IF they score higher. But instead they quietly mumble to themselves about their own scores.

It's October 14 and only a few coaches willing to post (even when a Varsity scores in 300's, uh, they will probably be 700 by R1).

What started this rant? A PM from a coach I've never talked to (and who has never posted scores) trying to stir it up. The fact that John posted scores, good AND bad, is the reason he's one of the best, and most feared, coaches in AcaDec and why he builds winners over and over.

I will be a gentleman this time. Next PM trying to divide Texas will be exposed by name and school. Texans, beware of wolves in ... well, you know the rest.

My school just took these tests.
Almost a 4k increase in total objectives from R1.
Overall, not as hard as I thought it would be before taking it, not as easy as I thought it was while taking it. Then again, it is January, not November.

Honors 5507 5158
Scholastic 4793 4367.5
Varsity 4019.5 3339.5
