My final year as a senior in ac dec!! Which range of scores do u guys think would place, considering the difficulty level of prompts this year and if you guys saw scores - based on that information too?

Really wanna place at state and too anxious for placings!

Yeah I would really love to break 8000 but I could only get around 6800 because we don't have a structured academic decathlon program at school. Just get to study during weekends and a lot the day before competition which kinda sucks!

Hey guys. I'll be going to an invitational tomorrow for the local scrimmage. Yeah it's been a tough year for us - we didn't get the dividers and content until mid-September, which was pretty pathetic of our District.

Anyways, just wanted to ask you guys who have already been to a local scrimmage:

I am pretty good at math... We have learned a lot of the science concepts at school. As for the others, I might be a little new to them. Would you suggest becoming thorough in Math and Science and glancing over the dividers as a good way to study?

And as far as dividers are concerned - how useful are they - like what score can I expect in like art of music or lit if I just go over the dividers?

Yeah I agree - 0% motivation for me. I got my APs coming and UIL region and state and other important activities - so this contest is basically bs to me. I may place, but I am not going to be studying or preparing for this stuff. I wanted to place at state
but came 4th in math and it really pissed me off b/c I was one question of - so I'm just going in there - just - yeah - no prep!

Hello,

this is my firs tyear to ac dec and I am seriously not sure how this online contest works.
My school is new to it and my coaches have not explained this to me (I am not sure whether they know fully about this).

So, I am curious to know about how this contest is conducted? What about awards? Like what if you were a small school - would you be ranked under all small schools?
Do we get medals like mailed to us if we win any?

How do you get selected to online competition? Is there a certain procedure - what is it, if there is any?

And who goes to Hawaii this year? Winning teams of each state or anyone else? Will online contest be ranked with them too?

Please add on to these questions and give me as much info as possible. Thanks in advance!!!
