My school has its fair share of amusingly dumb people whose ramblings are a great source of amusement, hence a thread for hilariously stupid things we hear.

QUOTE
50 grams...100 grams...500 grams...1 kilogram - what's kilo? It's a hundred, right?
And this is in AP Physics. I smell a 2.

QUOTE
A: Is she hot?
B: Not really.
A: Doesn't she have a boyfriend?
B: Yeah, man...
A: Bro, why you even trying?
*long pause*
B: Smurf, man...

QUOTE
Why we learning new stuff when next week Dead Week?
[Dead Week is my high school's version of reading days before exams. Classes meet, but only for review.]

I love my school.

*Sophomore me goes to white board

*Writes 'Aisa'

V1 - "Nico that's not how you spell Asia"

*Looks at word for 10 seconds

Me - "Wait; there's no 'i' in Asia!"

V1 has never let me live this down.

I say roughly 70% of the best funny stories in AcaDeca come from Varsities, 39% come from Scholastics, and 1% come from honors. I remember a varsity posting here about the Social Science study guide a few years ago; the tithe is a tax the church levied on agricultural production or landowners and she pronounced "tithe" "horribly, horribly wrong."

Hey! I am the source of plenty of funny stories, thank you very much. Especially dorky mnemonics. Last year, Sebastian and I memorized the order of tribes invading ancient Russia with "Crazy, scary, sarcastic Gothic humans avenged kites voraciously." Also the general lack of street smarts.

Yes, yes I did.

That you had to get your car inspected each year, however? ...Nope.

That just has two digits on it! How was I supposed to know to pay attention to it, or to know that it corresponded to a date seven months in the past?!

Not said, but a generally bright decathlete put a fork in the microwave.

Also, me and my teammate got all of our asian girls to start cursing like sailors lost at sea. It was fantastic.

...I have done this...

...Though now I can't go without mentioning how one of our Scholastics (Kovan) set off the hotel fire alarm at State last year by failing quite hard at making popcorn. That was pretty great.

Mnemonics aren't funny "stories." <3 < 3 <3

Looking at the last few posts:

Honors not knowing basic car ownership practices make pretty good funny stories.

Scholastics accidentally setting off fire alarms at competition hotels make great funny stories.

Varsities (Stanley Tree) getting all Asian girls on the team to start swearing profusely make outstanding funny stories. *standing ovation*
