Markieff Morris: 20 PPG, 10 RPB, break out season.

You heard it here first, unsuspecting basketball nation.

Trade vetoed due to massive amounts of butthurt. I'm sure the Hornets appreciate being stuck with a smurfy team, Stern. lol

The last thing the NBA needs is more ill will within New Orleans while it tries to sell the franchise. It has nothing to do with it being a good or bad deal for them.

Yeah, like vetoing the trade wasn't a disaster itself.

So Lakers fans hate him. Boo hoo.

LOL, it's not even about the Lakers. But I'll explain it to you. There's clearly a conflict of interest in being the commissioner of the NBA while also being an owner in the league. He's fielding trade offers, but then making decisions based on what's "good for the league". He's giving autonomous power to his GM to make basketball decisions for the Hornets but then arbitrarily taking it away from him. To what end? Basically to show his power over Chris Paul's career.

And just this morning, Stern also ruined a CP3 trade to the Clippers for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Aminu, Eric Bledsoe and Minnesota's 1st round draft pick by demanding MORE.

He's basically refusing to trade Chris Paul anywhere by demanding ridiculously lopsided trades.

Clearly he's powertripping on some crazy smurf.

Also...the Hornets have 5 players on their roster right now. So yeah...great job at fielding a team, Stern.

The way I understand things, the Hornets fans want CP3 to stay there, and that's his primary motive. I think the Clippers deal would have suited them nicely, but I figure if NOLA doesn't want to get rid of Chris Paul, they shouldn't have to,

the hornets want/need to get rid of him. otherwise, he leaves at the end of this season as a free agent, and they get nothing in return. if they don't trade him now, the team is screwed in the long term.

That was never in dispute, but sports fans are by no means rational decision-makers. I mean, people still support the Cubs.

Stern needs to do whatever he can to lure a buyer. Which, really, might have been the Clippers trade, as it gives them a good draft pick would have given the buyer some flexibility to do his own thing. But I don't criticize Stern for nay-saying the Lakers deal.

Who will win this Christmas? Clippers or GS Warriors?

Ethan Sherwood Strauss: Clippers. I hope nobody steals my "picking the better team" strategy.
